この度、2023年度のBCS小学部ジュニア（4年生以下）の監督を務めさせて頂いております、下村二郎と申します。

現在ジュニアチームには4年生以下、計38名の選手が所属しております。

その内訳は日本人の子供が中心ながら、3割を超える選手が日本語を母国語としておらず、多国籍・多様性の中で活動をしております。

基本的には毎週土曜日午前中に日本人中学校で練習をしていますが、野球をもっとやりたい！と言う子供達の熱意に押される形で、

日曜日の午後も自主練習と言う形で実施しています。

チームスポーツである野球を通じ、挨拶や礼儀、チームメートのみならず対戦相手をもリスペクトする事を学ぶと言う大前提を

踏まえつつ、大目標として子供たちが野球を楽しみ、野球を好きになってもらう事を目指しています。

今年度はwithコロナと言う形で対外試合や大会参加も再開しておりますので、各選手の成長をどの様にサポートして行けるかを

各コーチ、また保護者の皆様と相談・議論をしながら、選手たちにとって一番良い環境を整えて行ければと考えております。

野球はご両親に野球経験がないと、習い事として子供に進め辛いスポーツであると言われています。

BCSは野球を通じてチームワークを学び、規律や秩序を身に付ける場としての側面も勿論ありますが、何よりも野球を楽しむ事を

第一として活動しているチームです。

野球は少しハードルが高いな、と思われている方もぜひ一度体験や見学にお越しください。

楽しそうに笑顔で、でも時には真剣に取り組む子供達に交じって、一緒に野球をやりましょう！

My name is Jiro Shimomura, the head coach/team manager of the BCS Junior (4th grade and under) for the year 2023-2024.

Currently, a total of 38 players belong to BCS Junior, although mainly in Japanese, but more than 30% of the players do not speak

Japanese as their native language. We are playing in a multinational and diverse environment using both Japanese and English.

Our regular practice time is in the morning of every Saturday mainly at the Japanese Secondary School (West Coast) and having

some voluntary practice on Sundays as well.

Based on the major premise of learning greetings, courtesy, and respect for others through playing baseball, our final goal is to have

the players come to enjoy and love the baseball.

Deregulation of COVID allows us to participate in games and tournaments, by discussing with each coach and guardian, we will find

the best way to support each player for their growth.

Someone says that baseball is a difficult sport to start if his/her parents never played.

Don’t worry, although BCS is a team where you can learn teamwork and discipline, above all, our main goal is to enjoy baseball!

We welcome all kids who are interested in baseball.

Let’s play and enjoy baseball together!!
